Building on concepts covered in Basic Advertising Design, students will explore advanced principles of applied advertising design production. This will be a hands on course dealing with the developing design solutions that communicate with target audiences. We will focus on the professional practices of advertising design. Students will develop an understanding of both the limitations and advantages of various mediums: newspaper, magazines, direct-mail, posters or displays.
Digital Art I provides an overview of the major tools, techniques and ideas of digital art. Attention is given to both the technical and artistic challenges of creating within a new medium. Major areas of focus include image editing, photomontage, video art and Internet art. Special attention is given to the differences between traditional and digital creativity, examining the challenges and capabilities that are unique to each medium.
An introduction to Vector Graphics, including the major tools and techniques for graphics professionals creating illustrations for print and web.
